This fear grew out of being left by her friends after her parents were taken. She also has a fear of loss and abandonment, causing her to stick close to those guarding her and to have extreme loyalty to those she trusts, afraid that if she cannot live up to their standards, they will abandon her or leave her. She is good at listening to every word a person says without ever interrupting or making the person feel uncomfortable.Īri has an extreme fear of bisonbecks because of what happened to her parents. This strengthens her bond between her and her animals and helps her forge new ones with other animals.Īri's father was a knight in service to Paladin and taught Ari the basics in swordfighting, a skill that would prove useful after Mies had been taken captive.īecause of her past, she understands more things that others might not. Like N'Rae, Ari can mindspeak to animals, see an animal's memories, and even detect animals nearby to her. She loves the colors of purples and blues and often will dress in those colors. Around her face, hands, and feet, her fur is closer to a light tan, like some O'rant's skin. Her fur is a pale grey with a blueish tint to it. She has heterochromia and her left eye is a vibrant blue and her right goes between bright green and a gentle hazel. She looks like a very tall Doneel but, has a faint citrus smell on her because of her O'rant ancestry. If you get to know her well enough and gain her trust, she will allow her funny and joyful side to come through.Īri is 4 feet tall and quite slender. When her thoughts on a subject are put down, all of her normal shyness and cautiousness fade away and she can become loud and relentless in her argument. She is very shy but, is known for her excellent listening skills. When alone, she gets sudden bursts of energy and can keep up with a horse in a canter. She is very comfortable around animals and will talk to them freely, however, around members of the high races she is very quiet. She was sent by Paladin to go and search for the missing keepers, similar to how she and Bardon had searched for their fathers. Penn had met her while he was playing with his riding dragon, Helio, a bright orange dragon with green designs on his flanks. Ari had been wandering for the two years after her parents had been taken and had made it to Prushing, where she had stayed near for the past week. Kale asked Penn where he had found the small girl. When she was 9, she was found by Penn, Kale and Bardon's son, and taken to his parents, who, along with Penn were questing. It was often thought that Mies was also a Dragon Keeper but, there is no proof. When she was 7, her parents were taken by bisonbecks because of Ailani's Dragon Keeper abilities.
